We finally have that Heather confirmation!
Sure, most of us probably surmised as much about Heather’s relationship to Sir, but that didn’t make the closing moments of Found Season 2 Episode 17 any less satisfying as the mystery surrounding this character was laid to rest.
Of course, the hour was also lovely in capturing just how important Gabi is to the Found family and teased at her origin story for many of the other characters. And Sir’s own, Mark-Paul Gosselaar took a spin in the director’s chair and showed off more of his talents!

Gabi’s Past Haunts Her in a Whole New Way
We don’t often hear about the cases that Gabi previously resolved. The series is often fixated on moving forward and leaving the past behind despite its firm grip on all the characters we hold dear.
But it also shouldn’t have been too surprising that a disgruntled person from Gabi’s past could have it out for her.

In this case, it was Monty, and if there was ever a call for M&A to have better security for the umpteenth time, Monty proved the necessity.
How many people can waltz into M&A and wreak havoc and upturn everything? It’s getting beyond the ridiculous point. Gabi needs to hire permanent security; the receptionist should’ve been fired a lifetime ago.

Monty’s anger was palpable, and my heart plummeted deep in my chest when he pulled that gun out and held both Gabi and Margeret at gunpoint. Worse yet, he continued to do so in varying degrees as the hour progressed.
In hindsight, I’m relieved that he’s a man who eventually realized he needed to pay for his mistakes because it would’ve been too hard to swallow if he got away with all the acts of violence and traumatizing behavior he unleashed on these women over his son.
Gabi Recognizes Her Misgivings and Quick Judgment After Confronted With Her Past
Monty was right. He needed to pay to have a clean slate for his sins.
The case presented an interesting position for Gabi and how she resolves cases. It isn’t easy to separate one’s personal experiences from the job when one has a past like hers.

When she saw Jaylen, she spent more time identifying as a missing, hurt child than she did undertaking Monty. Understandably so, as the poor kid had third-degree burns.
We learned through Monty over time that he wasn’t the one who abused his child. He went to prison for covering for his wife, who suffered from Postpartum and a deeper depression.
Sadly, an incident where Dahlia was out of it and didn’t pay attention to Jaylen pulling down scalding water resulted in everyone branding Monty as an abuser and monster.

Of course, at the root of everything, he was a devoted husband and father who wanted to ensure his wife got the help she needed and kept his son’s best interest at heart.
But when Dahlia’s wealthy, judgmental parents enter the equation and pile on, Monty becomes a villain in Dahlia’s life, and the parents try to control Dahlia and take over Jaylen’s care.
Found’s Cased Touched on the Stigma of Mental Health Issues

Once the case was unfurled correctly, it was easy to understand the situation better, how terribly the system treated Monty, and hope for the best with Dahlia.
Dahlia was a mentally ill woman who needed the love and support of those around her to slay the beast that is depression, and her parents removed the only person who actively wanted to do what was best for her.
It’s just such a pity that Monty had to resort to all of this and jeopardize the safety of others to get this done. Ironically, had he approached Gabi with some sense in the first place, she still would’ve helped.
However, the trauma of this situation led to some strong moments that exemplified the familial nature of M&A.
Unsurprisingly, Dhan and Trent cannot agree on anything except Gabi. She’s the only thing that can make them stop hating each other long enough to work together as a unit.
Gabi’s Protectors Ride for Her Always

The Crashout Twins, as I affectionally called them, were locked, loaded, and ready to pop off if it meant getting Gabi out of that freaking room, and I was giggling in glee at the sight of it.
Gabi sacrificing herself for Margaret was totally on brand, every bit as much as Margaret risking a bullet to get back to her son.
This had two-pronged effects. On the one hand, it prompted Margaret to honestly think about how much she loves Gabi, how she’s become her best friend and person, and appreciate what Gabi has been to her all of this time.

Earlier in the season, Margaret couldn’t see any of that when she was angry with Sir. This hour gives Margaret a chance to put the person who felt more like Gabi’s enemy than sister to bed once and for all, and I loved that.
However, the scenario also prompted Jamie to appreciate his mother in a way that he hadn’t until then. He freaked out over the thought of a gunman holding Margaret hostage, and he was willing to brave bullets just to get to her.
Margaret and Jamie Reach Turning Points in Perspective

Like Dhan, I recognize that Jamie is coming around and isn’t a bad kid. He’s just perhaps a traumatized one who is trying to work himself through things the same way all of them had to.
In many ways, Jamie represents what everyone else was like when they first met Gabi. It’s easy to love the entire squad now, years into healing and recovery after they’ve settled into things. Jamie is just what they were like when things were still raw and work needed to happen.
Jamie likely went to Gabi’s house to apologize to her. He has an unusual fascination with Gabi, but perhaps he’s drawn to what she can do and represent as a child of abduction. We may see Jamie gravitating to her like the others had to become her family.
It especially hits harder knowing that this is an hour where Margaret encouraged Gabi to connect with Monty the way she did with all of them.
The Hour Teases Gabi’s Orgin Stories With Half the Team

We’ve learned how Gabi made Margaret feel less alone in her darkest moments and how she went from helping Margaret with Jamie’s case to becoming her family when hers left her.
I wonder if we’ll get flashbacks to that origin story now that Margaret has opened up the discussion. It’s basically when she, Gabi, and Dhan all came together, and I desperately want to see that play out before my eyes.
Dhan respects people who go to bat for their loved ones, so he doesn’t need much more from Jamie when he sees his reaction to Margaret. Even though Dhan doesn’t need the DNA test, I still do, though for science.

Jamie has become the Scrappy-Doo to M&A’s Scooby-Doo gang, which comes with good and bad.
I still don’t fully trust him, even though I’ve come to enjoy his presence more and what he contributes to the team. We still don’t actually know why he met up with Sir. There’s still too much mystery surrounding Jamie to embrace him fully, even when softening to him.
Margaret Versus Sir is Fantastic TV; She Makes Him Nervous

The Margaret/Sir scenes were ICONIC.
Margaret was a total scene stealer for most of the hour, and I loved how she didn’t allow Sir to rattle her. She’s always in control when in front of him, and her confidence tends to knock him down a peg.
He seems legitimately afraid of Margaret sometimes, which is good because he can’t manipulate her as easily as he may be able to with other characters.
Margaret stood firm in not helping him or reading Gabi there, and he didn’t know what to do with any of that. He underestimates other people’s love for Gabi, too—the healthier kind rather than his own toxicity.
Margaret’s getting to face Sir also puts her in the position of being able to slay Gabi’s dragon without writing off Gabi’s trauma in all of this. Her moments with Monty gave us insight into how deeply Gabi still faces the effects of Sir.
I particularly loved her admitting that he stole her name—that she goes around the world referring to herself as this nickname because Sir used her full name, and thus, she associates it with him and the toxicity.
Margaret Pieces Together Who Took Jamie

It’s another way Sir has all this control over Gabi, even all these years later. Not knowing how deeply his effects are has sometimes made Gabi a misunderstood character.
Sir’s attempt to get back at Margaret after she failed to bring Gabi to him resulted in her piecing something together about Jamie.

He shared a key point in identifying who took and kept him with Sir. What happened with that one woman from Margaret’s group who checked up on her?
The turn of phrase sent Margaret reeling; we may know who took him by the next installment. One can only hope.
Meanwhile, Margaret’s revelation that Heather is Sir’s sister shouldn’t come as a surprise, but it was still fascinating to watch.
Heather is Lena, Sir’s Sister!

Margaret’s run-in with Heather was illuminating, as she recognized that they share many familial traits and physical indicators.
This would explain why Heather took the case on and wanted to get him out of prison. She’s been the real accomplice this whole time.
But why did Sir behave in those he didn’t recognize her? And what is it about Heather/Lena that scares him so much? Why did she turn on her brother, Christian?
If Margaret is right about this, it will be more than enough to make us clamor for more information about Heather.
Whatever is up with her, Gabby has her sights set on the now, and I don’t know how they’ll take her down, but Gabi will figure out a way.
Over to you, Found Fanatics. Do you believe Heather is Sir’s sister? Who is your theory on who took Jamie? Let’s hear it below!
