As Angela is giving Grey the rundown, Wesley and Nolan walk in, and Wesley says there is another motive, jealousy. Angela doesn’t buy it, but Nolan told Wesley about the kiss he saw, and Angela is still in denial.

She asks Nolan how long he knew about the kiss, and she’s frustrated that he withheld this information for a few hours during the wildfire.
Grey tells Nolan that he cannot tell Harper what he saw because Harper is a suspect because of the jealousy motive.
Bailey shows up to ask about James and check in on Harper, but she passes out, and now she has to have medical assistance at the hospital.

Meanwhile, Grey and Nolan have to search through Harper’s home as part of the investigation. Nolan finds evidence that James was friends with an anti-cop activist/extremist named Leonard who has a warrant for burning police cars and other things.
It’s a bigger problem for Harper because she had the man in her home.

They tell Angela, but she cannot tell Harper about it, which she’s not happy about.
They’re trying to make it seem like Harper and Connor have a relationship of some sort because she arrested him at some point.

While talking to fellow patients at the hospital, Bailey realizes that the two men have smoke and burn injuries from acid, and she warns they may have a drug operation or something. Celina is excited she may make her first big bust off of rookie probation.
The department lead goes to speak to Harper, shows her the photo of James with Leonard, and throws out her suspicions about James’ involvement with this criminal and things he may have kept from Harper. Harper tells her that she can ask James all of that when he wakes up and that she’s still under the impression tha the was an innocent bystander and the shooter was really after Kylie.

She also asks for her union rep, Nolan, but the woman tells her that Nolan is the one who also saw James and Kylie kissing and reported it, shocking Harper.
Grey walks in on Vivian talking to Harper and pulls Vivian out of the room. He goes off on her for violating the rules with speaking to Harper without reading her rights and other things.
Vivian claims after the scandal with corrupt cops, they have to be proactive and tells Grey that he has to put Harper on administrative leave.
Harper overhears and hands in her badge and gun. She asks Grey about James having an affair, and he honestly answers that he doesn’t know anything more about that beyond the kiss Nolan saw.

Chen and Bradford have a hard time with the case and Chen speaks about the woman dying. She sympathizes with the daughter.
But then a woman comes in claiming that she’s the woman’s daughter, and her only daughter. They go into the room where they thought the other daughter was, and the real daughter says that it’s her mother’s maid. The maid is stealing the woman’s jewelry.
