TV Fanatic has an exclusive sneak peek at The Wonderland Massare & the Secret History of Hollywood series finale, teasing killer Eddie Nash’s fate.

The series digs deep into multiple murders on Los Angeles’ Wonderland Avenue on July 1, 1981.

The story has surprising Hollywood ties from porn star John Holmes to Liberace’s one-time boy-toy Scott Thorson.

If you think you’re unfamiliar with Thorson, you might not be. He wrote Behind the Candelabra, an explosive behind-the-scenes look at his life with Liberace.

Thorson’s involvement with The Wonderland Massacre harkens back to his Liberace days when the relationship that lifted him up sent him spiraling down into the darkest recesses of Hollywood amidst porn stars and drug dealers.

This wild case epitomized a chaotic era in Los Angeles, marked by sex, drugs, rock ‘n’ roll, and murder. It’s the true story that served as the inspiration for Boogie Nights, starring Mark Wahlberg.

Through noir-style, vérité interviews, Michael Connelly delves into the details of this brutal quadruple murder, speaking with the original detectives, prosecutors, and undercover cops he first met as a young crime reporter for The Los Angeles Times.

As the investigation progresses, rare archival footage and photographs bring to life a colorful cast of characters.

One of the most notable is Eddie Nash, the man responsible for the brutal murders of four people that July night, even if he didn’t personally pull the trigger.

Thorson, as of the filming of The Wonderland Massacre & the Secret History of Hollywood, may have been the last living person able to shed light on the case.

Through interviews with him and with the help of the lead detectives on the case and others, Connelly untangles 40 years’ worth of larger-than-life stories.

His goal was to arrive at the stranger-than-fiction realities of the as-yet-unsolved case, but the truth is elusive.

It’s a character itself, appearing to remain hidden no matter how hard people work to uncover it.

Case in point is Nash’s stunning arrest and trial and the hook repeatedly freeing itself from its prey.

The exclusive clip of the series finale finds Thorson sharing his storied bravado with Connelly as he claims he called out Nash for the murders, as well as the detectives‘ shock at how the Nash trial unfolded.

No matter how strong the case, the justice system doesn’t always get it right.

It takes 12 to convict, and that’s a lot harder than you would think, even with the evidence collected in The Wonderland Massacre case.

Take a look at the clip below:

Be sure to tune in to find out how Nash fared at trial.

Thorson died before the series premiered, so this may well be the last say on this case. It’s not something you want to miss!

The finale premieres on MGM+ on Sunday, September 29 at 10/9c.
